Truth-In-Lending
You will be asked to sign a Financial Agreement, also known as a Federal Truth-In-Lending agreement. It is a federal requirement that we disclose how much interest we charge. We do not charge interest if payments are fully and timely made, but the government still requires you to sign a Truth-In-Lending agreement.
Payment Schedule
Outlined in our Financial Agreement will be a payment schedule. The initial payment must be received in our office prior to the first brace fitting appointment. It is not our normal procedure to send monthly statements. Statements are only sent when a remittance (personal or insurance) is past due.
Our goal is to finish treatment as efficiently as possible, so neither the fee nor the payments are based on the number of appointments or length of treatment, but represent a convenient method of budgeting the cost of treatment over a period of time.
We offer three payment options. The first is payment in full which entitles you to a small discount. The second option is to remit a down payment of 20% by bank draft, cash, check, or credit card and then follow with monthly bank drafts or credit card payments. The third choice is outside financing of your choice. We offer and accept Care Credit.
Orthodontic Insurance
All services are charged directly to the patient, and patients are personally responsible for payment of charges incurred. As a courtesy to you, our office will prepare the necessary forms to assist you in collecting benefits from your insurance company. We will accept assignment of insurance benefits. Please understand that insurance is billed monthly or quarterly (however your insurance company requires) and cannot be billed as the full treatment fee. However, it must be understood that the doctor has no relationship with your insurance company, and the fee is the sole responsibility of the patient.
