Office Events

October is not only National Orthodontic Health Month but also National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Merging these two events, the orthodontic office of Dr. Janice J. Wilmot in Lilburn has pinked up the practice. Dr. Wilmot’s mother was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year, and she and her sister decided to honor their mother by participating in the Atlanta 2 day walk on October 2nd and 3rd to increase awareness and raise money for education, treatment and research. The walk had over 700 participants and was 20 miles on Saturday and 10 miles on Sunday, ending at the World of Coca Cola. The donations stay in the local community, and more information can be found at www.itsthejourney.org.

In support of Dr. Wilmot and all of the families in the practice affected by breast cancer, the staff wanted to wear pink for the month. That lead to a creative t-shirt design, and now patients and staff are wearing “Embrace the Cure” shirts. Patients have also been encouraged to wear pink color ties on their braces and have been featured on the practice’s Facebook page with photos and dedications.
